E-commerce SEO services, Australia

E-commerce SEO for Australian online stores selling nationally

Australian shoppers search with their own words: colour not color, "free shipping australia", "afterpay", "buy online australia". We build collection and category pages, product pages and Google free listings for the way your customers search from Perth to Brisbane, then report organic orders and organic share of revenue every month, so SEO sits next to Google Ads and Meta in the same report.

US$3,000 a month, ex GST (proxy price)

  • Written scope signed before work begins
  • Organic orders, revenue and share of revenue reported alongside rankings
  • Our method comes from in-house work by the founder at Brain Station 23 (software development and IT services), where SEO and paid search together took inbound pipeline to 43x in eight months
  • A planning model you can check yourself, and no guarantee of rankings, traffic or revenue

Customer success journey

Your 12-month path for an Australian online store

Australians spent A$82.6 billion online in 2025, up 14% on the year before, across 9.8 million households, with an average basket of A$96 (Australia Post 2026 eCommerce Report, Mar 2026). Eightx's summary of the same report puts online at about 24% of retail. The stores that win those searches nationally are the ones whose collection and product pages match what shoppers type. Pick where your store is today, put in your own sessions, conversion rate and order value in AUD, and walk the path month by month. Shopify's own SEO guide (Oct 2025) says SEO results typically take three to six months, and 12 months or more in highly competitive verticals, so the model keeps months 0 to 3 close to flat. It is a planning model driven by your inputs, not a promise.

Where are you starting from?

Paid ads and marketplaces carry the store. Google Ads, Meta and marketplace listings bring most orders. Organic visits are mostly brand searches, and collection pages are product grids with no copy. Sessions are a sample number. Conversion is set at 1.0%, an assumption below the 1.46% APAC average (Dynamic Yield, past twelve months to September, read Oct 2026; completed purchases divided by visitors, site-wide and all channels; no Australia-only figure is published there). Order value uses A$96, the national average online basket for 2025 (Australia Post 2026 eCommerce Report, Mar 2026).

Your orders by channel, month by month

Month 0, expected case

One bar stands for one month of your orders, divided by where each order came from. For month 0 we borrow ThoughtMetric's May 2026 average revenue mix across the e-commerce brands it tracks and treat it as your order split, which is an assumption: 38.3% Google Ads, 16.8% Meta Ads, 13.8% direct, 9.9% organic search, 8.4% email and SMS and 12.8% everything else. ThoughtMetric does not state its sample size or attribution model, and the figure is not drawn from Australian stores, so swap in the split from your own GA4. From there only organic search moves, following this page's planning model, while every other channel stays fixed at its month 0 volume. Read the organic share as a model, not a forecast.

Only organic search changes with the model. The other channels are held at their month 0 volume, and the month 0 shares (organic search 10%, google Ads 38%, meta Ads 17%, direct 14%, email and SMS 8%, other channels 13%) are an assumption; your channel report replaces them.

How the model works

For each month m from 0 to 12: Monthly organic sessions(m) = V0 x VisitRamp(m). Orders(m) = Monthly organic sessions(m) x C0 x ConversionRamp(m). Orders kept after returns(m) = Orders(m minus L) x P. Organic revenue (AUD)(m) = Orders kept after returns(m) x Average order value (AUD). Cumulative organic revenue (AUD) = sum of organic revenue (AUD) from month 0 to m. Before month L, orders kept after returns come from the month 0 level of orders.

Each ramp is a multiplier on month 0, one per month. Month 0 is 1.00. Every multiplier is an assumption and is editable below.

How the model worksOrganic revenue(m) = Sessions(m) x Conversion(m) x Orders kept x AOV
For each month m from 0 to 12: Sessions(m) = your monthly organic sessions x VisitRamp(m). Orders(m) = Sessions(m) x your conversion rate x ConversionRamp(m). Organic revenue(m) = Orders(m) x orders kept after returns x average order value in AUD. Lag is 0 months because an order happens in the visit.

Months 0 to 3 are tracking, crawl, mapping and schema work. Shopify's SEO guide (Oct 2025) puts typical results at three to six months, so the model shows little movement before month 4.
Conversion ramp multipliersExpected 1.20; conservative 1.10, both reached at M9
Assumption, adjustable. Reflects more organic visits landing on collection and product pages that match the query.

Playbook

The pages we build first

Each card is a page type and the kind of search it answers, with your names in the brackets.

Collection pages in Australian words

Shoppers in Australia search with local spelling, local product names and local modifiers such as australia, free shipping and afterpay. We map each query to one collection or category page and write its intro, buying help and FAQ in the words your customers use, so the page matches the search on google.com.au.

Example query: Women's swimmers, with filters for size, coverage and fabric and a short fit guide

Faceted navigation that does not waste crawl

Every filter for size, colour, brand and price can spin up its own URL, one per combination. Google's faceted navigation guidance (Dec 2025) advises blocking filter URLs that have no place in Search, using one consistent parameter order and sending a 404 when a combination is empty. Only filters that Australians actually search for get an open page.

Example query: Open: /bedding/linen-queen/. Blocked: /bedding/?size=queen&sort=price&page=4

Product pages with delivery that matches reality

We write unique copy for your highest-revenue SKUs, with sizing and the delivery and returns information you actually offer across states. Following Google's product structured data documentation, the merchant listing markup holds price, availability, shipping and return policy. Only genuine customer reviews feed the review markup. Under the Australian Consumer Law, fake reviews and selectively removing genuine negative reviews can be misleading or deceptive conduct, and the ACCC's online reviews guidance spells that out, so writing, buying or filtering reviews is something we refuse to do. Displayed prices stay exactly as your store sets them.

Example query: Product page with specs, a size guide, delivery times by region and valid merchant listing markup

Google free listings for Australia

Merchant Center products can appear free of charge on the Shopping tab, in Search, Images and other surfaces. Australian stores must add shipping settings, so we configure them alongside your return policy and keep the feed consistent with each page. Being eligible is not a promise of placement, which is why free listing clicks are tracked apart from Shopping ads.

Example query: Merchant Center feed with GTIN, brand, AUD price, availability and Australian shipping

Sale events on URLs that keep their links

EOFY in June and Black Friday, Click Frenzy and Boxing Day at the end of the year drive large parts of the Australian retail calendar. We build sale pages on URLs that stay live all year, update them before each event and link them to the collections on sale, so each year starts with last year's links.

Example query: /eofy-sale/ kept live all year, refreshed each May

Links earned in Australian media

A collection page seldom attracts links by itself. With your permission, we turn your own data into digital PR stories for Australian journalists and editors, go after gift guide and roundup spots on merit, and point that coverage at the collections that sell. Buying links is off the table.

Example query: A data story on what Australians buy before winter, by state, linking to your winter collection

Inbound pipeline to 43x in eight months

The founder ran SEO and paid search in-house at Brain Station 23, a software development and IT services company. The same method of tracking first, bottom-of-funnel pages next, then links and conversion work, took inbound pipeline to 43x in eight months. That was SEO and paid search together, for an IT services company, not an e-commerce store.

Fit

Who this page is for

A good fit

  • Australian online retailer with AUD 3M+ online revenue, shipping Australia-wide
  • Running Shopify, BigCommerce or Magento now, or migrating to one
  • Someone in marketing or e-commerce with authority to sign off pages, free for a monthly review despite the time gap

  • Marketplace-only sellers on Amazon, eBay and similar, without a store of their own
  • Buyers who need a ranking, traffic or revenue figure guaranteed in the contract
  • Brands asking for fake or incentivised reviews, or for paid links
  • Businesses unable to share revenue data, because our reporting runs on orders and revenue

FAQ

Questions teams ask before a call

How long until SEO shows up in our online revenue?

Shopify's SEO guide (Oct 2025) puts typical SEO results at three to six months, and at 12 months or longer in highly competitive verticals, with timing driven by domain age and history, competition, content, backlinks and technical SEO. In our model months 0 to 3 stay near flat, because that is when tracking, crawl, mapping and schema get done. Treat it as a planning model; it is not a guarantee.

You are based in Bangladesh. How does that work with an Australian store?

Dhaka is four hours behind Sydney and Melbourne in winter and five hours behind during daylight saving, so our working day overlaps your afternoon. Monthly reviews run on video at a time that suits you, and all work sits in your own accounts.

Do you write in Australian English?

Yes. The keyword map is built from Australian search terms and spelling, and page copy follows it: colour, jumper, swimmers, and modifiers such as free shipping australia and afterpay where your store offers them.

What do you do about faceted navigation?

Google's faceted navigation guidance (Dec 2025) is our rulebook: filter URLs with no reason to appear in Search get blocked, parameters always appear in one order, and a filter combination with no products returns 404. Where a filter has real Australian demand, it becomes an indexable page with its own copy.

Do free listings on Google need ad spend?

No. Products in Merchant Center can show without charge on the Shopping tab, in Search, Images and other surfaces when the feed meets Google's policies. Australian feeds must include shipping settings. Google never guarantees placement, and Shopping ads are a different product you pay for.

Will you add review stars to our product pages?

Only stars that come from genuine reviews your customers already leave, marked up the way Google's documentation sets out. The Australian Consumer Law bans misleading or deceptive conduct and false testimonials, and the ACCC's online reviews guidance treats fake reviews, incentives for a particular kind of review and selectively removing genuine negative reviews as misleading. Writing, buying or filtering reviews is not something we do.

Why is the price in US dollars, and what is a proxy price?

We bill in US dollars, ex GST. There is no Australian survey of e-commerce SEO retainers, so the price is set against one Australian agency's published client average (A$5,157 plus GST a month in 2026, about US$3,350). We label it a proxy price so you can check the basis.

Do you have e-commerce case studies?

Not yet. The evidence we have comes from the founder's in-house role at Brain Station 23, an IT services company, and we present it only as multiples and positions. The first online store that signs with us becomes a pilot; with that store's written permission, its 90-day interim metrics go public as percentages.

Do you guarantee rankings or revenue?

No. Google's results are outside anyone's control. What we do commit to is the signed scope, the monthly deliverables and a straight report measured against your baseline.
