Law firm SEO services, United States

Law firm SEO for US personal injury, family, criminal defense and immigration firms

We build the practice area pages, office profiles and intake tracking that turn searches like car accident lawyer near me into answered calls, booked consultations and signed cases. Every month is reported in intake calls, consultations and signed cases from organic, not in keyword counts.

From $3,500 a month, by practice area

  • Copy approved by a named attorney at your firm before it goes live
  • Every account and profile owned by the firm
  • Reported in signed cases, not rankings alone
  • No ranking, case or fee guarantees

Customer success journey

Your 12-month law firm SEO path

Pick where your firm's organic channel is today, change the numbers to your own, and walk the path month by month: what we ship, what you should start to see, and what the firm keeps. The charts and the pipeline show intake calls, consultations and signed cases, expected and conservative, drawn to scale.

Where are you starting from?

Personal injury firm missing from the map pack. Calls come from referrals, TV and Local Services Ads. The firm ranks for its own name, its office profiles are thin and directories outrank its practice pages. Visits and fee are sample numbers. Visit to lead is set at 3.5%, about half the Ruler Analytics legal organic rate, because the pages carry little click-to-call. Lead to signed is an 8% assumption, because many injury calls are not cases.

Three columns, one per stage. As you move the month scrubber, each column fills with the intake calls and forms, booked consultations and signed cases the planning model gives for that month, expected and conservative side by side. The gap between the first and last column is where most firms lose cases: calls nobody answers and consultations nobody books.

Each filled dot stands for 10, expected case, in every column.

The first column is intake calls and forms and the last is signed cases, both from the model. The stages between are spaced evenly between those two numbers, which is an assumption, not a benchmark.

This is a planning model built from your inputs and public benchmarks, most of them from agency and vendor sources. How the model works

For each month m from 0 to 12: Organic visits a month(m) = V0 x VisitRamp(m). Intake calls and forms(m) = Organic visits a month(m) x C0 x ConversionRamp(m). Signed cases(m) = Intake calls and forms(m minus L) x P. Fee value of signed cases(m) = Signed cases(m) x Average fee per signed case. Cumulative fee value of signed cases = sum of fee value of signed cases from month 0 to m. Before month L, signed cases come from the month 0 level of intake calls and forms.

Each ramp is a multiplier on month 0, one per month. Month 0 is 1.00. Every multiplier is an assumption and is editable below.

Assumptions and sources

Monthly organic visitsProfile default, editable
Sample number. Replace with your non-branded organic sessions from GA4.
Visit to qualified lead, legal, organic search7.3%
Ruler Analytics conversion rate benchmarks (26 May 2026): legal organic search 7.3%, legal overall 7.9%. Ruler counts a conversion as a qualified lead or sale from forms and calls; in legal, 56.3% of conversions were calls and 43.7% forms. Tracked through Ruler's own platform, not a random sample of firms. Profiles with thin practice pages or guide-heavy traffic use a lower rate, marked as an assumption.
Intake call or form to signed case8% to 20% by profile
Assumption. No public benchmark we could verify measures this step across firms. It folds in calls that are not cases, conflicts, consultations that do not book and consultations that do not sign. Replace it with your own intake log.
Average fee per signed caseProfile default, editable
Sample number. For contingency cases FindLaw puts typical fees at one third to 40% of the amount recovered (updated 1 Apr 2024); enter your average fee, not the recovery.
Fee timingBooked at signing in this model
Assumption for readability. Contingency fees are paid when a case resolves, often many months after signing. Read the revenue line as the fee value of cases signed, not cash received.
Signing lag0 to 1 month by profile
Assumption, editable. Time from first intake call to a signed engagement letter.
Firm response to enquiries40% of firms answered the phone; 33% replied to email

Conversion rampExpected 1.40, conservative 1.20 by month 11 to 12
Assumption, adjustable. Rises earlier than the visit ramp because call answering, click-to-call and booking fixes ship in months 1 and 7.
Visit rampExpected 2.10 at month 12; conservative 1.50
Assumption, adjustable. Flat in months 0 to 2 while tracking and fixes ship, slow in months 3 to 6, rising from month 7 as practice and city pages and profiles mature. Major metro markets run slower; see the New York City page.

Playbook

The pages we build first

Each card is a page type and the kind of search it answers, with your names in the brackets.

Practice area pages per office city

A person hurt in a crash searches the injury and the city, not the firm. We write one page per practice and city the firm actually serves, with the courts, filing deadlines and fee terms that apply there, and an attorney approves each one.

Example query: Truck accident lawyer in [city]: deadlines, fees and what happens after you call

Google Business Profile and the map pack

The map pack shows three firms. Each staffed office gets its own complete profile with practice categories and real hours, and its details match every legal directory and the state bar. Virtual offices are left out: Google's guidelines say a rented mailing address the firm does not operate from is not eligible, and a shared office counts only if the firm's own staff are there in business hours.

Example query: [Firm name], [practice] office in [neighborhood]

Intake tracking and answered phones

Clio's 2024 secret shopper study found that 40% of 500 firms answered the phone. Ranking is wasted if the call is missed. We track calls per page, test-call every office line and report missed calls next to rankings.

Example query: Monthly line: calls from organic, answered, booked, signed

Local Services Ads beside organic

Local Services Ads sit above the map pack in many legal searches and charge per lead. We help set them up and dispute leads that are not cases, then compare cost per signed case against organic so the firm funds the channel that signs.

Example query: Cost per signed case: organic vs Local Services Ads, by practice area

Reviews that stay inside bar rules

Reviews move map pack calls, and bar rules limit how you get and answer them. Requests go out after a matter closes with no incentive, and replies never confirm someone was a client or discuss a case.

Example query: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

Answer pages for the questions intake hears

Intake staff hear the same questions every day: how long do I have to file, what does it cost, do I need a lawyer for this. Pages that answer them in plain words bring better qualified calls and support AI answers.

Example query: How long do you have to file an injury claim in [state]?

What the method has done, and what we have not done yet

43x

Inbound pipeline to 43x in eight months, in-house

The founder ran SEO and paid search in-house at Brain Station 23, a software development and IT services company. The method was tracking first, then the pages closest to an enquiry, then links and conversion work. It took inbound pipeline to 43x in eight months. That was SEO and paid search together for an IT company, not a law firm, so read it as proof of method, not as a legal result.

FAQ

Questions teams ask before a call

How long until law firm SEO produces signed cases?

Months 0 to 3 are tracking, office profiles and page architecture. Long-tail practice and city pages usually move before head terms, and the planning model on this page shows expected and conservative paths from your own numbers. These are estimates, not guarantees.

Can you get us ranked for personal injury lawyer in our city?

Head terms in most metros are held by firms with years of links and content. We start with the queries closest to a call: the injury, the place and the question. We tell you plainly if a head term is out of reach in year one.

How do you keep copy inside bar advertising rules?

We draft to ABA Model Rule 7.1 style standards: nothing false or misleading, no unjustified expectations about results, no claim to be a certified specialist unless the attorney holds a certification your state recognizes. A named attorney at your firm approves each page, because your state's rules and your bar decide.

Do you replace our Local Services Ads or PPC agency?

No. We advise on Local Services Ads and report cost per signed case for organic and paid side by side, so the firm can decide where the next dollar goes.

Who owns the website, profiles and tracking?

The firm. Every account sits in the firm's name from day one, and every page and report stays with you if you leave.

Do you have law firm case studies?

Not yet. Our first law firm client will be a pilot with interim metrics published at day 90, with the firm's consent. The proof on this page is the founder's in-house method at an IT services company, shown as a multiple, and ranked keywords for S & F Consulting, a company formation, licensing and accounting consultancy and a CMBD client, not a law firm.
